Voices

Hear them call out my name
Inviting me to play a game
Of hide and seek,
From me.

In the dark as I stand
They take me by the hand,
And I cannot see
Who’s holding me.

They lead me to a place,
Where the people have no face.
And I stand there alone
As they come and go.

I hear them whisper words
I’ve never heard before.
And I still cannot see
Who’s surrounding me.

But as my mind’s becoming clear,
I understand what’s fake or real.
The voices disappear
And nothing now I hear.

I’ve understood what’s done and said
And what has happened in my head.
It’s the voices come to me
To keep me company.
